Treasures Abound in South County |
You are docked near the center of activities and only a short walk or cab ride to great restaurants and events: Fun surrounded by history and culture – something for people of all ages . Within a short radius is a treasure island known to Rhode Islanders as South County. Enjoy fresh-caught seafood on the docks or in elegant restaurants. Your dockmaster has all the menus for over two dozen restaurants and catering establishments. Natives are especially fond of local specialties such as stuffies, succotash, cabinets, jonnycakes, and coffee milkshakes. Just down the road is Theater By The Sea, where you can spend the evening at a New York quality musical theater, dinner before and cabaret after. Just a little further will take you to an evening with Shakespeare. For the more adventurous take the 20 minute high speed ferry to Block Island and test out your biking and hiking legs. You are only minutes from kayaking, canoeing, and evening stargazing at one of the largest private telescopes at the Frosty Drew Observatory. You may find that this stopover becomes the highlight of your sail. |
Here is a list of just some of the points of interest not usually found in the local tour guide. Ask the dockmaster for details: |
